About a  month ago my brother bought an Ipad, at first I wasn't convinced about it but after using it couple of times (mainly because my brother made me and I was bored at Chillli's waiting for my breakfast) I have to admit it's quite amazing.
The idea of having a digital sketchbook is great. I was even thinking of getting one. But the thing is: It doesn't have pressure sensitivity on the table, you can't use a pen, only your fingers, and besides  there aren't many  programs for drawing (the one I used is sketchbook pro, it's similar to Photoshop).

On the other hand I found out this [link]

ASUS-eee tablet, for artists.

The good thing:   it has pressure sensitivity and you can use pen.

The bad thing: It doesn't have any colors!!

I'm really hoping next generation of tablets from these companies will take it to the next level.

For ASUS ,to use colors on the screen on the tablet and for Apple to put some pressure sensitivity on the tablet. It can be that hard. I'm sure Steve Jobs will be reading this and listen.

MEANWHILE I leave you with 2 sketches I made on Ipad.

Enjoy!

You can get a third party stylus that will work for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch.

But, yeah...the pressure sensitivity is still a bit of an issue.

Why the hell would they release something like that, specifically for artists, WITHOUT color?!?

the only thing which i not sure about is the difference of when you make the stroke and when it appear, which you can see in the video but maybe its just a thing of the settings.

Interesting, The asus tablet will be fine if you only want to draw like with a pencil on a paper

I completely agree. It seems like the obvious next step but, frustratingly, THEY. STILL. HAVENT. MADE. IT!!! a portable tablet with its own internal memory, battery and being capable of programs like photoshop or painter... I mean, COOME OON!!!? i recently sold my business because i'm focusing on my studies, recently i kinda had to decide whether to drop my business or my study so i decided to study (but thats a different story all together) ANYhooo had i kept the business i would have tried to get backers to help make some kinda prototype tabletcomputer that wasnt crap, then approach a company like wacom or whatever and propose the product (obviously they couls refine, redesign and better the prototype) buuuut given the economy the chances of that project failing was too risky so i chose education.
modbook looks ok, lets just pray they come up with something soon.
hope some marketing division of microsoft or apple see this.
CMOOOOOOON!!!
